Light Blue Wellie Boots Boxes

I've been patiently waiting for these for a couple of weeks! They've made it just in time for Easter deliveries.
Last season I featured a Pink Valentine's Day box with gold embossing. This season, I've taken my favorite icon of the Spring season (and all seasons), the Wellie Boot and had it embossed on Light Blue boxes.
They are just the thing for cookies or lemon bars, or a little gift. They will also make good basket stuffers for kids or big kids - maybe with a small gift or favorite candies inside.
Set of 2 Boxes
5.5"x7" rigid boxes with base and lid

I completely forgot that I left my mixer at The School House, so I scrabbled to Dolce (favorite local spot in PV) to pick up sweets for the boxes.

The Lemon Bars.  Ohhhh.  So good.

The boxes coordinate with the Wellie Stationery Suite so nicely.  Both make great gifts!  Shop >

Holiday Hostess Gift | Wine "Wrapped" in a Wrap

Wine is always the best Hostess Gift.  I like to dress up the bottles with wrapping to make it more of a special gift.  Sometimes we'll write right on the bottle with a gold sharpie - I especially like to do this for special bottles we give for birthdays or anniversaries.  And sometimes I tie a bow around with a tag to dress it up a little bit.  Recently, I wrapped a Wrap around the bottle to make a package that is a gift in itself.

I've added a new Deep Red Wrap to my collection.  This has been my go-to this season.  I don't own many (any!?) red blouses or sweaters, so this wrap instantly gives my wardrobe a festive flair.  I've worn it dressed up with a dark brown faux fir vest, my black wool coat and super casual with my olive and navy puffer vests.

For the Wine Wrapped Gift, I tied the bottle with Brown Velvet Ribbon and a Berry Tag.

Gift Wrap & Packaging | Ribbon & Cello Bags Restocked

I love wrapping gifts.  I have always used simple light weight craft paper and really fabulous ribbon.  I wrapped this first stack of gifts this week using a combination of all different ribbons - some old, some new.  I used some classic Christmas colors, but then added some favorites from years and seasons past.  I think the eclectic-ness adds a charm factor that matchy-matchy doesn't quite acheive.

I think my hands down favorite is this fabulous wide green satin.  So pretty and silky.

This slate colored ribbon (from last season) looks so pretty with the light green snowflake tag.

I think red berry tag looks very sophisticated when paired with the rust colored velvet.

Here, I've paired the green satin ribbons with the Green Snowflake Tag & the Old Fashioned Wreath Tag.  If you go matchy-matchy, might as well go all out!

The Dark Grey box is our Boxed Gift Card for the store this season.  My favorite gift to give (wink, wink).

I always keep a big stash of Cellophane Bags for homemade treats.  They really dress up any simple gift.  They've also been restocked today.  Shop all of my favorite Gift Wrap Essentials, here >

Sparkly Star Cupcake | Easy Valentine's Day Treat + Easy Cupcake Tips

Homemade Gift Giving

When I started this store, the concept was to make giving homemade beautiful gifts easier and accessible.  I know that when it is time to think about what Valentine's Day treats (usually the day before...) we will take to school or to a party, the less errands to run the better.  We don't have time to go to Michaels for the right cupcake papers, Hobby Lobby for the boxes plus Target for some cute cards.  It is my goal every season to bring you darling ideas that are easy and allow you to experience giving gifts at a new level - the world of "homemade."

I know it is not typical to expect friends or neighbors to give Valentine's gifts to each other - but all the more reason to.  Maybe you've always hoped you would have time to plan for and give thoughtful gifs for small holidays or just because.  The trick is not to have more time, but to be able to make beautiful things in less time - so you are more likely to actually accomplish it.

I love this assortment!  The stripes, the pink, the coral, the gold - all so cute.  Notice, they are not covered in hearts, so they an be used for any occasion - especially darling for girly birthday parties paired with Pink Celebration Candles.

This box of cupcakes is the perfect example.  Sure to receive ohs-and-ahs from your recipients, a pink box full of Sparkly Star Cupcakes is such a sweet gift.

The only thing you need to supply is the cake mix and some frosting.  Yes, I said cake mix.  I always use mixes for cupcakes - they just tend to turn out better.  I will share a post tomorrow with my secret to doctoring up a cake mix.  (update : Here is the post with My Secrets for The Best Cupcakes from a Cake Mix)

With just one mix, you can create 24 cupcakes and you will have 6 of these pink boxes full of cupcakes to give.  In our house, we send 1 to school, 2-3 to drop at a friends or neighbor, 1 to work with Mike and one to keep.  Lots of Valentine's joy delivered from a simple project.

I love the color of this bakery box - it is not too soft, not too bright.  They are now on sale 10 for $6 (instead of $8).

Pink Bakery Boxes, 10 for $6 (on sale, from $8)

Ok, so what if you are not into baking at all - maybe you just like wrapping and packaging?!  A box filled with bakery donuts or brownies is just as great, especially when you dress it up in your own way.

Supplies :

Sparkly Star Cupcake Kit, 48 papers + 24 stars, $14

Pink & Red Cupcake Wrapper Kit, 48 for $5.50

The trick to getting the perfect swirl is to use a disposable pastry bag (Disposable Pastry Bag, 100 for $14).  I just snip off the end - no tip needed - to get the smooth swirls.

Pancake Mix Gift with Maple Syrup for Friends & Neighbors

Food "kits" are one of my favorite things to give, especially when they combine our favorite things to share.  We (mostly Emma and Mike) are really into pancakes this year, and with our recent trip to Vermont, this seemed like a great way to share our favorite things as gifts.

The other great thing about this gift is that it is an "assembly only" gift - no baking, no cooking, no drizzling, no frosting.  The only thing you have to do is stir together the dry ingredients (you may not even have to go to the store) and put them into a Kraft Bag (10 for $12).  I printed an "Our Favorite Pancake Mix" label on the front, then included instructions on another label on the back.

You can download the labels that can be printed on my Printable labels (in kraft or cream) - download them here

Here is the recipe I used :

5 cups flour
1/2 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt

The directions for using the mix is on the back - all they have to do is add milk and eggs, then stir together.

The other special part of this present is the Farmhouse Pottery syrup pitcher and their little bottle of Vermont Maple Syrup.  This was a treasure we found on our trip!  I will post more about our visit to their pottery studio and how perfect, creative, beautiful, rustic, cozy, elegant, modern and perfect (did I say that?) everything was.  I have a couple of other things I had them ship back to me for gifts, too, and gifts for our new kitchen... that I'll be giving myself around Easter, it seems.  Let's just hope it is not Mother's Day!

Of course, if you want to find any bottle of Maple Syrup, that would work, too!  I'm thinking of adding some homemade biscotti, as well.

I haven't found the perfect basket/box/container yet for our gifts, but I will show how I ultimately end up packaging at some point.

Products Used :

Kraft "Coffee" Style Bags, $12 for 10

Printable Labels, $5 (on sale!) for 50

Enjoy $5 Shipping on all orders today and many markdowns on Christmas packaging, tags, ribbons and cello bags.  You can see all sale items, here!  Happy Gifting!
